HomeAid Central Massachusetts, the charitable arm of the Builders Association of Central Massachusetts, after a successful 2005 is looking forward to continuing its efforts to eliminate homelessness in the greater Worcester area in 2006.
Our first-ever project was virtually completed at the end of 2005. This particular project was the total renovation of a three-decker that will serve as transitional housing for temporarily Homeless female Veterans. The project is for the benefit of Massachusetts Veterans, Inc. The success of this endeavor is directly attributable to the efforts and generosity of numerous BACM members and their companies.
2006 will mark the beginning of our next project. We are currently working with an organization, Baby's Breath, in their efforts to find a site on which we could build a new facility for them. Baby's Breath provides refuge for at-risk children.
Also in 2006 we will undergo an expansion of the board of directors and will be working closely with HomeAid's national office to expand the capacity of HomeAid Central Massachusetts for the coming year and beyond.
